A massive Mutual Aid response of at least 18 towns responded to the old Columbia Hotel and adjoining properties. A lightning fast fire in the cockloft raced through all 4 attached buildings, despite TowerLadders and trench cuts. A portion of the rear wall collapsed onto 2 FFs in the Westminster TowerLadder, and they escaped with their lives and only minor injuries.
